In terms of the BEE Codes of Good Practice gazetted in February 2007, elex khanyisa is
classified as an EME – Exempt Micro Enterprise. We are automatically allocated a BEE
contributor level rating of Level 4 BEE compliant.
Any qualifying purchases you make from us can be claimed
at the rate of 100% of your procurement spend with us.
In addition the codes specify that Generic companies can earn an additional 3 points on
their Procurement scorecard by spending 10% of their total procurement with EMEs or
QSEs. We are part of that classification & should therefore be included in that category.

elex khanyisa subscribes to the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Codes of
GoodPractice as gazetted in February 2007. We are committed to following the procedures
set out in the B-BBEE codes.
The codes define an Exempt Micro Enterprise as one with an annual turnover of less than
R5 million. Our turnover based on our latest financial statement as submitted to SARS was
lessthan R5 million.
We are therefore classified as an Exempt Micro Enterprise (EME). EME’s are automatically
allocated a level 4 BEE score. Any procurement from us can be claimed at the rate of 100%
of any qualifying spend with us.
However elex khanyisa has a vision of achieving a level 1 BEE score and we are in the
final stages of creating an Employee Owned Trust where all our staff will enjoy the success
of elex khanyisa.
